Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze how labor law faces the challenge of environmental protection, just ecological transition and circular economy. Thus, on the one hand, we analyze the precepts that, in the Workers' Statute — the basic labor law —, refer to environmental matters. On the other hand, an analysis is made of the role that collective bargaining agreements can play in this area, given their greater flexibility and adaptability as a source of labor law. With the aim of also providing a practical view, more than 280 recent collective bargaining agreements are evaluated from an environmental perspective, highlighting their current commitment to environmental issues, which is very limited.
