Abstract

The review of the book Creating equality at home is presented. How 25 couples around the world share housework and childcare, edited by Francine M. Deutsch and Ruth A. Gaunt. Researchers from different countries have participated in this study to qualitatively analyze the equal distribution in households. 25 couples from 22 countries around the world have been individually interviewed, dealing with everyday issues of life as a couple, such as the distribution of tasks, child care and the degree of dedication to paid work. From the reading of this book, some key points are concluded that promote equality in the couple.

Author Biography

Nadia Khamis Guierrez, Centro de Investigación Social Aplicada (Universidad de Málaga)

Graduated in Economics (2018) and with a Master's Degree in Applied Sociology (2019) from the University of Malaga. She is a doctoral candidate in Sociology on the Economics and Business Doctoral Program and a researcher at the Center for Applied Social Research at the University of Malaga. She has participated in various research projects and has been a teaching collaborator. She has publications in high-impact international journals and has been a speaker at various national and international conferences, in the field of research and teaching. Her lines of research are: Family Sociology, Economic Sociology and Social Networks.
