This review analyses a book that addresses a key issue in the present and future of the helping professions, and specifically social work: digitalisation. This Handbook, published by Routledge, addresses the development of a new specialisation in the helping professions from an international comparative perspective: digital social work. It consists of 42 chapters, in which more than 60 authors from countries on five continents collaborate. It is a project led by two editors, Professor Antonio López Peláez (UNED, Spain) and Professor Gloria Kirwan (RCSI, Ireland), with extensive specialisation in this field.
This is a publisher of the highest academic prestige. For example, in the SPI classification, in the area of Sociology, Routledge is ranked first in the ranking of foreign publishers.
