About the Journal

The CENTRA Journal of Social Sciences is a biannual scientific publication issued in January and July of each year. It is sponsored and supported by the Center for Andalusian Studies (CENTRA Foundation) as part of its founding objectives of promoting scientific research, especially on Andalusian society. It is published in Spanish and English in electronic format for free download, and in Spanish in paperback.

Therefore, the journal welcomes the submission of articles, research notes, or texts for the remaining sections. All submissions must be unpublished and original, written in both Spanish and English. Texts submitted in languages other than Spanish or English will not be accepted. As an added value for authors and readers, and to promote internationalization, once each issue is completed in the first month corresponding to its publication date and according to the language in which the texts are received, the corresponding translations into English or Spanish will be published progressively.

The CENTRA Journal of Social Sciences is part of the CENTRA Social Sciences project, a line of scientific publications that aims to promote the generation and dissemination of scientific knowledge on the social, economic and cultural reality of Andalusia, Spain and the world, as well as to support research carried out in Andalusia in these areas, through the evaluation, publication and dissemination of unpublished works from the academic and research field.

This initiative covers the entire range of fields of knowledge within the Social Sciences and linked to the CENTRA Foundation: Communication, Political Science, Economics, Education, Sociology, and Anthropology, among others. The initiative is aimed at the academic and research community in the social sciences at the regional, national, and international levels, as well as the general public interested in exploring the social reality in question through the lens of science in this branch of knowledge.

The anonymous, double-blind peer review system and the universality of the evaluation criteria guarantee the maximum scientific rigor of the published works, open to the widest scientific community at the national and international levels.

To provide content for this new line of scientific publications, the initiative has an Editorial Board composed of university professionals from the aforementioned fields of knowledge in the Social Sciences and from various Andalusian, Spanish, and international universities.

In addition to the CENTRA Journal of Social Sciences, this new line of scientific publications also includes several book collections: Actualidad, Biblioteca de Investigación, Enfoques and Clásicos de las Ciencias Sociales.
